- You have a stable living situation
- You or your spouse is employed
- You have a clean criminal record

Adoption is Likely a Good Fit If…
- You have a good support system to raise a child
- You are financial independent enough to afford to adopt and raise a child. See our article on adoption costs here
- You have room in your heart for a child that comes from a different background than you.
- You have the time and resources to dedicate to a needy child.
- You have adequately dealt with any infertility grief and accepted that an adoptive child will be “yours.”
- Any other children in the home would love and accept the new child.
